Tommie Cardin is Practice Group Leader of the Public Law and Finance Group at Butler Snow. He concentrates his practice in the areas of civil rights defense, environmental and governmental liability defense, and administrative law. As part of this practice, Tommie serves as counsel for the Mississippi State Board of Contractors.

Organizations & Associations
As a member of the Mississippi Bar, Tommie is past Chair of the Government Law Section. He also serves as a member of the State and Local Government Law Section and Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and a member of the Hinds County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, Mississippi Defense Lawyers’ Association, and the Fifth Circuit Bar Association.
Education & Awards
Tommie received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Mississippi State University in 1983. He received his J.D. from The University of Mississippi in 1986 and then served as law clerk to the Honorable James L. Robertson, Justice, Mississippi Supreme Court from 1986-1987.
Community Activities
Tommie is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Clinton Public School District. He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi, Leadership Clinton and a member of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. He is also an active member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson, Mississippi where he teaches an adult Sunday School class.
