In an historic meeting on March 20, 2010 at the Isle of Capri in Lula, Mississippi, Mayor Patricia Furge of the Town of Lula, Mississippi convened the Coahoma County Small Town Summit. Sub-titled "Discovering and Taking Advantage of our Assets", Mayors, Board Members, City Clerks and interested citizens from Lula, Coahoma, Jonestown and Friars Point joined with John C. Stennis Institute of Government officials and experts from Rural Broadband Access, North Delta PDD, Aaron E. Henry Community Health Center, and Delta Regional Authority to engage in visioning the future of these 4 community. Venue and refreshments were generously provided by the Isle of Capri Casino in Lula, and participants were joined by Ms. Gena Doniphan, Human Resource Director at the Isle of Capri.
